I Openers: Sometimes organizations need to take a peek before taking a leap into a serious commitment to change. We can help you open the eyes and minds of your key leaders through speeches, board and leadership workshops and facilitation. We can design and facilitate a learning experience that will help you assess your organization's readiness for change.

Preparing for High Performance Learning Environments of the Future

Chief technology officers for schools will experience both crisis and opportunity as they extend the use of technology in learning and school district operations. IAF Senior Futurist Marsha Rhea looked at four different scenarios for the future of education technologies at a May 2008 Keynote presentation for the SAS/Consortium of School Networking/Lenovo Conference in Cary, N.C. This video presentation records an example of how Marsha used scenarios as an eye-opener about the possibilities for these school leaders.

A Formula for Leading Change

A simple formula for leading change can help you gain insight and generate momentum to overcome resistance to change. The formula reads simply:

Change = Dissatisfaction x Vision x First Steps > Resistance.

The wisdom is in understanding that resistance and change both have external and internal dimensions and vision is really the most powerful factor in the formula.

In her work with the Institute for Alternative Futures, Marsha Rhea used this formula in speeches and workshops to demystify the challenge of leading change.
